Domestic calcium carbide production capacity in 2011 welcomes double rise
June 08, 2018
2011 was the first year of the national "Twelfth Five-Year Plan". Although the policy of eliminating backward production capacity is still being implemented, it has become more standardized and reasonable in implementation. Benefiting from the post-disaster reconstruction of the Great Earthquake in Japan, demand for domestic calcium carbide quickly rose. Under the stimulation of high profits, the start-up load of domestic calcium carbide companies has been high in the past six months. Affected by this, the average annual output of calcium carbide has once again seen a large increase.
In 2011, China's calcium carbide is expected to reach a total output of 17.5 million tons, an increase of nearly 20% from the 2010 annual output. Affected by the post-disaster reconstruction of the Great Earthquake in Japan, the domestic demand for calcium carbide surged from April to September. Benefiting from this, domestic calcium carbide production in the first 10 months has exceeded the total output of last year. The production of calcium carbide increased significantly in North China and Northwest China. The production of calcium carbide increased slightly in Central China, East China and Northeast China, while the production of calcium carbide decreased slightly in Southwest China and South China. It is not difficult to see that compared to previous years, the trend of centralized production of calcium carbide has become more apparent, and the country’s implementation of the elimination of backward production capacity and industrial structure optimization and integration in the calcium carbide industry has achieved initial success.
According to incomplete statistics, it is expected that the existing plant capacity of China's calcium carbide will be approximately 25 million tons for the whole year of 2011, which is a slight increase compared to 2010 production capacity. The large-scale chlor-alkali enterprises in China will be integrated with the "cyclic carbide-chlor-alkali" supporting circular economy. Has formed a scale, with the recycling economy in the chlor-alkali and related industries further in-depth implementation of the future "calcium carbide - chlor-alkali" integration project in the calcium carbide industry, the proportion will further increase.
